To finish the job properly now will involve scaffold and substantial expence. All for a few pounds worth of mortar that should have been done when the new roof was laid.
And when the rain water gets into the cracks (which will only get larger now), soaks through the brick parapet and into the house, look what can happen!
Be wise and have a building survey or House Purchase Survey from Woodward Chartered Surveyors when buying your house. And if you are having work done to your home, consider employig a professional to advise you on specification and to sign off the works.
